Dark Chocolate Cake


  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1¾ cups general-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup chocolate or Hershey’s Special Dark powder
  • 1½ tsp leavening
  • 1½ tsp bicarbonate
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 giant eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup edible fat
  • 1½ tsp flavourer
  • 1 cup boiling water (I used hot, robust coffee)


  • 8 Tbsp butter or margarin, softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup chocolate or Hershey’s Special Dark powder
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 tsp flavourer

  1. Preheat kitchen appliance to 350°F. Grease and flour 3 8-inch baking pans.
  2. Stir along all dry ingredients to an outsized bowl.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil and vanilla and beat on medium speed regarding a pair of minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water (batter are thin). Pour batter into ready pans.
  5. Bake for thirty to thirty five minutes or till wood choose inserted in centre comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pans for ten minutes. take away cakes from pans to a wire racks and let to chill utterly.


  1. Beat butter in medium bowl till downlike. Add granulated sugar and cocoa alternately with milk, beating to spreading consistency. If necessary, add a small amount of milk to achieve desired consistency.
  2. Stir in vanilla. you’ll travel a pair of cups of icing.


  1. Place 1st layer of cake on cake plate. unfold regarding ½ cup of icing on high in a good layer.
  2. Add second layer of cake and add icing on high in a good layer.
  3. Add final layer of cake on high and frost the skin of the cake.
